Abercrombie & Fitch Co. dropped 0.3% to $87.0 after the specialty apparel retailer reported comparable sales growth of 14% in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2024.
Net sales increased to $1.58 billion from $1.45 billion, net income climbed to $187.23 million from $158.45 million, and earnings per diluted share rose to $3.57 from $2.97 a year ago.
Full-year 2024 revenue increased 16% to $4.95 billion from $4.28 billion a year ago, driven by a 17% rise in comparable store sales.
The company guided for the first quarter of 2025 net sales growth between 4% and 6% and net income per diluted share between $1.25 and $1.45, compared to $2.14 in the same period in 2024.
For the full year, the apparel retailer estimated net sales growth between 3% and 5% and net income per diluted share between $10.40 and $11.40, compared to $10.69 in 2024.
Abercrombie & Fitch announced a new $1.3 billion share repurchase authorization, expecting $400 million in share repurchases during 2025.

Abercrombie & Fitch soared 10.4% to $170.59 after the company reported record first-quarter sales.
Revenue in the quarter ending on May 4 rose 22.1% to $1.02 billion, driven by an Abercrombie sales increase of 31.1% to $571.1 million and Hollister sales growth of 12.3% to $449.2 million.
Net income in the quarter advanced to $113.9 million from $16.6 million, and diluted earnings per share rose to $2.14 from 32 cents a year ago, respectively.

Abercrombie & Fitch declined 4.9% to 68.0 after the retailer reported quarterly results.
Net sales in the fiscal third quarter increased 20% to $1.1 billion from $880 million, and the retailer swung to a net income of $97.7 million from a loss of $718 million, and diluted earnings per share were $1.83 compared to a loss of 4 cents per share a year ago.
Comparable sales across both brands increased 16% after a 26% jump in Abercrombie & Fitch and a 7% rise in Hollister stores.
Sales in the fiscal fourth quarter are expected to rise in low double-digits from $1.2 billion a year ago, and the retailer said operating margins are estimated to improve from the previous year because of higher retail prices and lower freight costs.
The company lifted its 2023 sales growth outlook to between 12% and 14% from $3.7 billion in 2022, compared to the previous growth estimate of 10%.
Abercrombie revised its operating margin to be around 10%, up from the previous estimate between 8% and 9%, which includes the 250 basis point benefits of lower freight costs.

Abercrombie & Fitch Company soared 24.5% to $28.64 after the specialty apparel retailer reported higher-than-expected profit and lifted its full-year outlook.
Net sales in the first quarter increased 3% to $835 million from $812 million and the company swung to a profit of $17.8 million from a loss of $14.8 million and diluted earnings per share was 33 cents compared to a loss of 32 cents a year ago.
The retailer revised its full-year net sales growth estimate to between 2% and 4% from the previous estimate of an increase between 1% and 3% from $3.7 billion sales in 2022.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co said revenue in the fourth quarter increased 3% to $1.2 billion from $1.1 billion and net income declined to $38.3 million from $65.5 million and diluted earnings per share fell to 75 cents from $1.12 a year ago.
In full-year 2022, revenue was flat at $3.7 billion and net income dropped to $2.8 million from $263 million and diluted earnings per share plunged to 5 cents from $4.20 a year ago.
The apparel retailer guided net sales growth in the range of 1% to 3% from $3.7 billion in 2022 with the expectation that Abercrombie will continue to outperform Hollister and the U.S. sales will continue to outperform international sales.
