  • Goldman Sachs Group Inc. increased 0.4% to $704.68, and the investment bank reported a surge in trading revenue because of the tariff-linked market volatility. 

    Revenue increased 15% to $14.6 billion from $12.7 billion, net income advanced to $3.7 billion from $3.0 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $10.91 from $8.62 a year ago. 

    Investment banking revenue increased to $2.1 billion from $1.7 billion, market-making revenue rose to $4.7 billion from $4.3 billion, investment management revenue jumped to $2.8 billion from $2.5 billion, and net interest income advanced to $3.1 billion from $2.0 billion a year ago, respectively. 

    The average annualized return on common shareholders’ equity was 12.8% for the second quarter and 14.8% for the first half of 2025.

    Book value per common share increased by 1.6% during the second quarter and by 3.9% during the first half of 2025 to $349.74.

  • The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. eased 0.4% to $502.06 after the financial service reported first-quarter 2025 results.

    Revenue climbed to $15.06 billion from $14.21 billion, net earnings edged up to $4.58 billion from $3.93 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $14.12 from $11.58 a year ago.

    Operating expenses were $9.13 billion in the quarter, 5% higher than the same period a year earlier and 10% higher than the fourth quarter of 2024.

    Equities revenue increased to $4.19 billion from $3.31 billion, and investment banking fees edged down to $1.92 billion from $2.08 billion a year earlier.

    Commissions and fees in the quarter jumped to $1.23 billion from $1.08 billion a year ago.

    Total assets under supervision climbed to $3.17 trillion from $2.85 trillion, with equity increasing to $771 billion from $713 billion and fixed income rising to $1.22 trillion from $1.14 trillion a year ago. 

    The company proposed a dividend of $3.00 per share, payable on June 27 to shareholders on record as of May 30.

    In addition, Goldman Sachs approved a share repurchase program for up to $40 billion of common stock.

    During the first quarter, the bank repurchased $4.36 billion of its common stock, 7.1 million shares at an average cost of $610.57, and paid $976 million in dividends.

  • Goldman Sachs increased 2.6% to $536.55 after the investment banker reported better-than-expected quarterly results. 

    Revenue in the third quarter increased 7% to $12.7 billion from $11.8 billion, net income advanced 45% to $2.99 billion from $2.06 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose 54% to $8.40 from $5.47 a year ago.

  • Goldman Sachs was unchanged at $314.50 after the financial services provider reported mixed quarterly results. 

    Third quarter revenue edged slightly lower to $11.8 billion from $11.97 billion and net income dropped to $2.1 billion from $3.1 billion and diluted earnings per share fell to $5.47 from $8.25 a year ago.. 

    The 6% decline in revenue in asset management was overshadowed by an 8% increase in global investment banking fees.

  • Goldman Sachs Group Inc declined 0.3% to $336.85 after the company reported lower-than-expected adjusted quarterly earnings because of losses in real estate and GreenSky. 

    Net revenue declined 8% to $10.9 billion from $11.9 billion and net earnings plunged to $1.2 billion from $2.8 billion and diluted earnings per share dropped to $3.08 from $7.73 a year ago.

    Investment banking fees declined 20% to $1.4 billion from $1.8 billion after merger advisory fees plunged 46% to $647 million from $1.2 billion. 

    Fixed-income bonds, currencies and commodities trading revenue plunged 28% to $2.7 billion from $3.6 billion and equities trading revenue increased 1% to $2.9 billion. 

    Asset and wealth management revenue decreased 4% to $3.04 billion from $3.2 billion a year ago.  

    Book value increased 1.9% to $309.33 a share.
