• HP Inc. dropped 7.7% to $36.09 after the personal computing company estimated weaker-than-expected adjusted earnings in the fiscal 2025 first quarter.

    The company estimated fiscal 2025 first quarter diluted earnings per share between 57 cents and 63 cents and for the full-year fiscal 2025 between $3.06 and $3.36. 

    The company estimated adjusted earnings between 70 cents and 76 cents, sharply lower than as much as 83 cents estimated by some analysts. 

    Net revenue increased 1.7% to $14.1 billion from $13.8 billion, net income decreased 7% to $0.9 billion from $1 billion, and diluted earnings per share fell 4% to 93 cents from 97 cents a year ago. 

    HP returned $1.2 billion to shareholders in the fourth quarter, including $900 million to repurchase 25.4 million of its own stock and $263 million in dividend payment of 27.56 cents per share.

  • HP Inc. decreased 2.3% to $27.21 after the personal computing and equipment company reported quarterly results. 

    Revenue in the fiscal fourth quarter decreased 5% to $13.8 from $14.8 billion, the company swung to a net income of $974 million from a loss of $23 million, and diluted earnings per share of 97 cents from a loss of 2 cents a year ago. 

    Personal Systems net revenue fell 8% to $9.4 billion on the ongoing weakness in consumer and enterprise demand, and Printing net revenue fell 3% to $4.4 billion. 

    HP estimated fiscal first quarter 2024 diluted earnings per share between 60 cents and 70 cents and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share in the range between 76 cents and 86 cents. 

    The company estimated 2024 diluted earnings per share in the range between $2.68 and $3.08 and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share $3.25 and $3.65.   

    HP generated $1.9 billion of free cash flow in the fourth quarter, which included net cash provided by operating activities of $2 billion adjusted for net investments in leases of $28 million and net investments in property, plant and equipment of $134 million.

    HP’s dividend payment of $0.2625 per share in the fourth quarter resulted in cash usage of $0.3 billion. HP returned 14% of its fourth quarter free cash flow to shareholders.

  • HP Inc declined 4.6% to $29.50 after the computer and advanced systems maker reported weaker than expected results. 

    Revenue in the fiscal second quarter ending in April dropped 21.7% to $12.9 billion from $16.5 billion and net income increased 7% to $1.07 billion from $1.0 billion and diluted earnings per share rose to $1.07 from 94 cents a year ago. 

    For the fiscal third quarter, the company estimated diluted earnings per share between 61 cents and 71 cents and for the fiscal year 2023 between $2.91 and $3.11.
