  • Micron Technology edged up 0.5% to $1,059.01 after the company reported better than expected results for the fiscal fourth quarter ending on September 3. 

    Revenue soared to $54.2 billion from $11.3 billion, net income surged to $37.7 billion from $3.2 billion, and diluted earnings per share advanced to $32.87 from $2.83 a year ago. 

    Data center SSD revenue surged more than 10 times year-over-year to nearly $10 billion, capitalizing on massive demand for AI infrastructure.

    Management highlighted that immense demand for HBM, DRAM, and storage products is tightening memory supply, a constraint expected to persist through fiscal years 2027 and 2028.

    Micron provided robust guidance for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, projecting revenue of $61.5 billion and GAAP earnings per share of $37.84, well ahead of consensus expectations.

  • Micron Technology soared 17.7% to $1,234.52 after the computer memory maker reported solid results in the fiscal third quarter ending in May. 

    Revenue soared to $41.5 billion from $9.3 billion, net income advanced to $28.2 billion from $1.9 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $24.67 from $1.68 a year ago. 

    The company estimated revenue in the fiscal fourth quarter to jump to $50 billion from $11.3 billion a year ago. 

    Revenue in the cloud memory unit soared fourfold to $13.7 billion from $3.3 billion; the core data center business unit advanced sevenfold to $11.5 billion from $1.5 billion; the mobile and client business unit jumped nearly fourfold to $11.5 billion from $3.2 billion; and the automotive and embedded business unit increased fourfold to $4.6 billion from $1.1 billion a year ago. 

    Gross margin as a percentage of revenue jumped to 84.6% from 74.4% in the previous quarter and 37.7% in the period a year ago.

  • Micron Technology Inc. gained 0.9% to $128.45 after the memory and storage solution provider reported results for the fiscal third quarter ending on May 29.

    Revenue edged up to $9.30 billion from $6.81 billion, net income surged to $1.88 billion from $332 million, and diluted earnings per share rose to $1.68 from 30 cents a year ago.

    The company guided fourth-quarter revenue to be between $10.7 billion and $300 million, compared to $7.75 billion, and diluted earnings per share between $2.29 and 15 cents, compared to 79 cents a year earlier, respectively.

    Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share are estimated between $2.50 and 15 cents in the fourth quarter, compared to $1.18 a year ago.

  • Micron Technology Inc. eased 0.2% to $94.56 after the memory and storage solutions provider reported sharply higher sales and earnings for the second quarter of fiscal 2025 ending in February.

    Revenue jumped to $8.05 billion from $5.82 billion, net income surged to $1.58 billion from $793 million, and diluted earnings per share edged up to $1.41 from 71 cents a year ago.

    “We expect record quarterly revenue in fiscal third quarter, with DRAM and NAND demand growth in both data center and consumer-oriented markets, and we are on track for record revenue and significantly improved profitability in fiscal 2025,” the company said in a release to investors.

    GAAP revenue in the third quarter is estimated to be $8.80 billion, plus or minus $200 million, compared to $6.81 billion a year ago, and GAAP diluted earnings per share is expected at $1.37, plus or minus 10 cents, compared to 30 cents in the same quarter in 2024.

    Gross margin in the third quarter is expected to be 35.5%, plus or minus 1%, compared to 26.9% a year ago, and operating expenses at $1.27 billion, plus or minus $15 million, compared to $1.11 billion in the same quarter last year.

  • Micron Technology increased 17.2% to $112.75 after the advanced chipmaker reported better-than-expected quarterly results, driven by demand for artificial intelligence applications and tight supply. 

    Revenue in the fiscal second quarter ending in February soared to $5.8 billion from $3.7 billion, net income swung to a profit of $793 million from a loss of $2.3 billion, and diluted earnings per share were 71 cents compared to a loss of $2.12 a year ago. 

    The company anticipated tight market conditions to persist in the fiscal third quarter and estimated revenue of about $6.6 billion with a band of $200 million and diluted earnings per share of 17 cents with a band of 7 cents.
