• Inditex S.A. declined 4.4% to €54.02 after the parent company of Zara and Pull&Bear said higher operating costs weighed on margins in its half-year results. 

    Sales increased 7.6% to €19.8 billion, and net income advanced 6.8% to €3.0 billion. 

    Gross profit in the period increased 8.3% from a year ago to €11.6 billion, and gross margin edged up 40 basis points from a year ago to 58.7%. 

    The company declared the fiscal 2025 final dividend of €0.875 to be paid in November 2026. 

    Sales at Zara-branded stores advanced to €13.8 billion from €13.2 billion, and Pull&Bear stores increased to €1.26 billion from €1.15 billion a year ago, respectively. 

    Total company sales in Europe (ex-Spain) accounted for 51.5% compared to 50.7%, in the Americas edged up to 17.9% from 17.8%, and in Spain inched higher to 15.6% from 15.5% a year ago.

  • Mission Produce decreased 5.7% to $13.61 after the avocado producer reported its financial results for the fiscal third quarter ending in July. 

    Net sales increased 26% to $450.0 million from $357.7 million, net income swung to a loss of $6.5 million from a profit of $14.7 million, and diluted earnings per share were a loss of 8 cents compared to an income of 21 cents a year ago. 

    The rise in sales in the quarter was primarily driven by an increase in avocado sales volume by 38%, partially offset by a decrease in unit price by 9%. 

    Net loss attributable to Mission Produce of $6.5 million, or $(0.08) per diluted share, included Calavo acquisition-related costs of $25.4 million on a pre-tax basis, compared to income of $14.7 million, or $0.21 per diluted share, for the same period a year ago.  

    The company completed the acquisition of Calavo Growers, Inc. on May 28 and paid $267 million in cash and issued 17.53 million of its common shares.  

    In the fourth quarter, the company estimated avocado sales from its farms in Peru to range between 120 million and 130 million pounds as compared to 105 million pounds a year ago.  

    Price per unit in the fourth quarter is likely to be lower by 10% from a year ago, driven by higher supply from U.S. and international markets.

    The company reaffirmed its fiscal second-half 2026 adjusted operating earnings estimate to be between $84 million and $88 million and estimated adjusted operating earnings in the fourth quarter to range between $52 million and $55 million.

  • Lululemon plunged 17.2% to $100.61 in Friday's trading after the company announced fiscal second-quarter results. 

    Revenue decreased 4% to $2.4 billion from $2.5 billion, net income fell to $329.2 million from $370.0 million, and diluted earnings per share fell to $2.92 from $3.10 a year ago. 

    The diluted earnings per share includes $0.86 per share related to tariff refunds and associated interest, net of tax.

    Net revenues decreased 8%, and comparable sales fell 12% in the Americas, but net revenues rose 4%, and comparable sales fell 3% in international markets, respectively. 

    Operating margin decreased by 190 basis points to 18.8%, despite the tariff refunds of $134.5 million lifting the margin by 560 basis points.

    Global comparable sales decreased 10% on a constant dollar basis, severely impacted by a 12% drop in the Americas, marking a sharp decline from past historical growth trends.

    Sales of Lululemon's core women's leggings category plummeted by approximately 20% during the quarter, indicating declining product relevance and intense new competition.

    Management sharply reduced its fiscal full-year revenue outlook to a range of $10.35 billion to $10.5 billion and slashed full-year EPS guidance to $9.48 to $9.73, citing traffic pressure and brand sentiment headwinds.

  • Snowflake soared 24% to $379.16 after the company posted strong results for the fiscal second quarter ending in July.  

    Revenue jumped 35% to $1.6 billion from $1.2 billion, net loss shrank to $191.7 million from $297.9 million, and diluted loss per share eased to 55 cents from 89 cents a year ago. 

    The company's newer AI products drove approximately half of the quarter's acceleration, with its AI coding agent CoCo crossing 9,100 accounts after adding more than 2,000 net new accounts during the quarter.

    Core product revenue jumped 37% from a year ago to $1.49 billion, marking Snowflake's third consecutive quarter of accelerating growth, while its net revenue retention rate sustained a stable 126%.

    The company lifted its full-year revenue outlook to $6.07 billion from the previous estimate of $5.84 billion, an increase of 36% from a year ago. 

    Snowflake estimated an adjusted operating margin of 14.5%, higher than the previous estimate of 13.5%.

  • Broadcom decreased 3.6% to $354.0 after the company reported results for its fiscal third quarter ending on August 2. 

    Despite beating expectations and issuing a strong outlook, Broadcom's stock dropped as much as 6% in extended trading following the report.

    Revenue surged 86% to $29.6 billion from $15.9 billion, net income advanced 216% to $13.1 billion from $4.2 billion, and diluted earnings per rose to $2.68 from 65 cents a year ago. 

    Broadcom's AI semiconductor revenue soared 221% and 54% annually and sequentially to $16.7 billion, driven by robust demand for custom AI accelerators and networking tools.

    "In Q4 the momentum continues, and we expect AI semiconductor revenue to accelerate to $21.7 billion, up 236% from a year ago," said Hock Tan, president and CEO of Broadcom Inc.

    Across business segments, semiconductor solutions revenue advanced 127% from a year ago to $20.8 billion, while infrastructure software revenue climbed 29% to $8.8 billion.
