• Qualcomm Inc. decreased 5% to $151.10 despite the wireless technology company reporting a rise in net income in the latest quarter.

    Revenue increased to $10.4 billion from $9.3 billion, net income jumped to $2.7 billion from $2.1 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $2.43 from $1.88 a year ago.

    For the nine-month period, revenue advanced to $33 billion from $28 billion, net income soared to $8.6 billion from $7.2 billion, and diluted earnings per share edged higher to $7.79 from $6.39 a year ago.

    The company guided third-quarter revenue between $10.3 billion and $11.1 billion, compared to $10.4 billion, and diluted earnings per share between $2.23 and $2.43, compared to $2.43 a quarter earlier, respectively.

    During the third quarter of fiscal 2025, the company returned $3.8 billion to shareholders, comprising $967 million in cash dividends, or $0.89 per share, and $2.8 billion in share repurchases, representing 19 million shares of common stock.

  • Qualcomm Inc. dropped 5.7% to $140.01 after the wireless technology company reported second-quarter 2025 results.

    Revenue edged up to $10.98 billion from $9.39 billion, net income climbed to $2.81 billion from $2.33 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $2.52 from $2.02 a year ago.

    During the quarter, the company returned $2.7 billion to stockholders in the form of dividends and share repurchases.

    Qualcomm guided third-quarter revenue to range between $9.9 billion and $10.7 billion, compared to $9.39 billion in 2024, and GAAP diluted earnings per share to be between $2.14 and $2.34, compared to $2.06 a year ago.

    The company estimated non-GAAP diluted earnings per share in the third quarter to range between $2.60 and $2.80, compared to $2.44 a year earlier.

    Nvidia declined 5.4% to $119.53, AMD dropped 7.1% to $165.03, ASML Holding plunged 10.9% to $953.52, and BE Semiconductor fell 5.7% to $174.45. 

    Taiwan Semiconductor decreased 7.2% to $172.66 after Republican Party U.S. President candidate and convicted felon said that Taiwan should pay the U.S. for defending the nation.

  • Qualcomm increased 5.2% to $172.78 after the advanced chipmaker reported better-than-expected earnings in its latest quarter and issued strong guidance for the current quarter. 

    Revenue in the fiscal second quarter ending on March 24 rose 1% to $9.38 billion, net income surged 37% to $2.3 billion from $1.7 billion, and diluted earnings per share advanced 36% to $2.06 from $152 a year ago. 

    During the fiscal second quarter, the company returned $1.6 billion to stockholders, including cash dividends of $895 million, or 80 cents per share, and $731 million through repurchases of 5 million shares of its own common stock.

    The company guided fiscal third quarter revenue to range between $8.8 billion and $9.6 billion and GAAP earnings per share between $1.74 and $1.94.

  • Qualcomm declined 1.8% to $145.83 after the chipmaker reported better-than-expected fiscal first quarter revenue and the company's current quarter sales outlook fell short of expectations. 

    Revenue in the quarter increased 5% to $9.9 billion from $9.5 billion, net income increased by 24% to $2.7 billion from $2.2 billion, and diluted earnings per share advanced to $2.46 from $1.98 a year ago.

    During the first quarter, the company returned $1.7 billion to stockholders, including $895 million, or $0.80 per share, of cash dividends paid and $784 million through repurchases of 6 million shares of its common stock.

    The company estimated revenue in the fiscal second quarter between $8.9 billion and $9.7 billion and diluted earnings per share between $1.73 and $1.93.
