Tesla declined 3.2% to $358.55 after the vehicle maker reported second-quarter results.
Total revenues increased 26% to $28.2 billion from $22.5 billion, net income attributable to shareholders decreased 5% to $1.11 billion from $1.17 billion, and earnings per diluted shares declined 3% to 32 cents from 33 cents a year ago.
Total automotive revenue increased 23% to $20.5 billion, energy generation and storage advanced 13% to $3.1 billion, and services and other revenues soared 50% to $4.6 billion.
Total vehicle deliveries increased 25% to 480,126 from 384,122 a year ago, driven by a 25% rise in Model 3/Y deliveries to 467,762 from 373,728 a year ago.
Jul 23, 2026 -
Tesla Inc. surged 8.2% to $305.30 after the electric vehicle maker reported second-quarter 2025 results.
Revenue decreased to $25.5 billion from $25.7 billion, net income declined to $1.4 billion from $2.1 billion, and diluted earnings per share fell to 40 cents from 60 cents a year ago.
The company struggled with electric vehicle sales, and chief executive Vaibhav Taneja highlighted economic and regulatory challenges in the months ahead.
"The One Big Bill has a lot of changes that would affect our business in the near term," Taneja said on the earnings call to investors.
The company's revenues are likely to be lower in the third quarter as the government's subsidies to purchase new electric vehicles expire, and the new tax and spend bill eliminates the fines for not meeting fuel economy targets.
Tesla derives significant revenues from selling its regulatory credits to competitors, as other electric vehicle makers prefer to purchase credit instead of paying fines.
The new tax and spending bill eliminates the fines, essentially killing the regulatory credit marketplace operated by Tesla.
In the second quarter, Tesla's total vehicle revenue fell 16%, while energy generation and storage revenue decreased 7%, but services and other revenue jumped by 17%.
Jul 26, 2025 -
Tesla Inc. surged 5.4% to $250.80 after the electric vehicle maker reported first-quarter 2025 results.
Revenue declined to $19.33 billion from $21.30 billion, net income edged down to $409 million from $1.39 billion, and diluted earnings per share fell to 12 cents from 41 cents a year ago.
The decline in revenue came with fewer vehicle deliveries, in part due to the Model Y update across all four vehicle factories, the company said in a release to investors.
Furthermore, the average selling price also dropped, and the company experienced growth in energy generation, storage, and services.
Apr 23, 2025 -
Tesla Inc. declined 1.9% to $350.25, and a Delaware judge upheld the previous judgment to deny chief executive Elon Musk the right to receive a pay package worth $56 billion in 2018.
Following the previous judgment issued by Chancellor Kathleen McCormick in January, Tesla moved its incorporation to Texas from Delaware and ratified the annual pay plan through a shareholder vote in June.
Tesla sought Chancellor Kathleen to reverse her opinion after the shareholder vote.
“Were the court to condone the practice of allowing defeated parties to create new facts for the purpose of revising judgments, lawsuits would become interminable,” wrote McCormick in a judgment released on Monday.
Tesla said on a social media platform, X, it plans to appeal the decision.
Dec 3, 2024 -
Tesla Inc. jumped 15.6% to $249.57 after the electric vehicle maker reported better-than-expected profit in the third quarter.
Total revenue in the third quarter increased 8% to $25.2 billion from $23.4 billion, net income attributable to shareholders advanced 17% to $2.2 billion from $1.9 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose 9% to 72 cents from 66 cents a year ago.
Vehicle delivery in the quarter increased 6% to 462,890 from 435,059 a year ago.
