Texas Instruments Inc. dropped 12.4% to $188.22 after the semiconductor company reported a second quarter ending in June.
Revenue increased 16% to $4.4 billion from $3.8 billion, net income jumped 15% to $1.3 billion from $1.1 billion, and earnings per share rose 16% to $1.41 from $1.22 a year ago.
The company guided third-quarter revenue between $4.45 billion and $4.80 billion, compared to $4.4 billion, and diluted earnings per share between $1.36 and $1.60, compared to $1.41 a quarter earlier, respectively.
During the same quarter, the company also paid $4.9 billion in dividends to its shareholders.
The Board of Directors of the company announced a $1.36 cash dividend per share for the third quarter of 2025.

Texas Instruments Inc. surged 4.8% to $159.53 after the semiconductor company reported first-quarter 2025 results.
Revenue jumped to $4.07 billion from $3.66 billion, net income edged up to $1.18 billion from $1.10 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $1.28 from $1.20 a year ago.
"Over the past 12 months we invested $3.8 billion in research and development and selling general and administrative expenses, invested $4.7 billion in capital expenditures, and returned $6.4 billion to owners,” the company said in a release to investors.
The company guided second-quarter revenue to be between $4.17 billion and $4.53 billion, compared to $3.82 billion in 2024, and earnings per share between $1.21 and $1.47, compared to $1.22 a year earlier.

Revenue in the third quarter declined 8% to $4.2 billion from $4.5 billion, net income dropped 20% to $1.36 billion from $1.70 billion, and diluted earnings per share fell 21% to $1.47 from $1.85 a year ago.
The company estimated fourth quarter revenue to fall between $3.70 and $4.0 billion and diluted earnings per share between $1.07 and $1.29.
